No matter how many years go by, Aaliyah‘s life, style and music still have a strong presence in today’s world, and her unique, tomboy style has been brought to life again in the latest photoshoot by The Block magazine, where they have enlisted the beautiful Sessilee Lopez to channel the singer’s look.
Stylist Andreas Kokkino was asked to style the Aaliyah-inspired shoot with the Philadelphia native, calling in clothes from the Fall/Winter 2012 collections of high fashion boutiques like Jean Paul Gaultier, Valentino, and more to create the stunning shoot.
Kokkino didn’t use much colour, sticking to just black, white and metallic clothing, mixing it up with different fabrics and heavily accessorising with jewellery, hats, sunglasses and bandanas, all topped off with Aaliyah’s trademark side-swept hairstyle.
