H&M confirms collaboration with Maison Martin Margiela | Style

After an excited hum of rumours about H&M‘s next designer collaboration, adventurous fashionistas will be glad to hear that the high-street brand has confirmed that it will pair with Maison Martin Margiela for a collection to hit stores November 15th.

Many who know Margiela’s work will be extremely surprised by this announcement, as the Belgian designer has always been considered very avant-garde and mysterious — not the kind of description you’d associate with someone collaborating with a hugely famous and worldwide chain. The collaboration should bring a totally different dimension to H&M as Margiela’s designs are sure to be more left-field and high fashion.

Margiela describes his creations as “Conceptual and Timeless Style,” and his design philosophy as “the work of a group rather than one designer.” Adding to that description in a statement, Margiela says, “The democracy of our fashion has always been at the centre of our creativity and the collaboration with H&M allows us to push this instinct further.”
