After the runaway success of the first-ever menswear fashion week in London back in June, the event’s committee has announced that London Collections: Men will return for a second run in January. Looking to top their first effort, they have also announced that designer Tom Ford will be showing his Autumn/Winter men’s collection for the very first time in the capital at the event.
“I am very pleased to be showing my menswear collection in London next January. London has a vibrancy that is inspiring and much of what I create for men takes its inspiration from traditional British menswear,” Ford told The Telegraph. “My clothes are designed with an international customer in mind, and London is one of the most international cities on the planet.”
At the moment, it is not known whether Ford’s designs will be shown on the runway or in a more private presentation at his Westminster headquarters, which is the way his womenswear designs are usually seen. It would be a huge coup for the London men’s fashion week if Ford were to show his designs on the runway, and a surefire way to ensure they stand out from other menswear events.
Ford will also be opening his first British store in London in 2013.
