For the latest installment in SoulCulture TV’s My Favourite Verse series, we sat down with the Cleveland, Ohio repping Bad Boy signed rapper Machine Gun Kelly while he was in London for his headline show and to promote his forthcoming major label Debut LP Lace Up, who chose to break down his opening verse from “The Pledge” which is taken from his Rage Pack mixtape.

Covering issues from the losing friends to tragic death or the prison system, corrupt politicians, a soul lost to the war and more, the 22 year old emcee breaks down the meaning behind the lyrics in the verse.
