SClusive Premiere: Izzi Dunn – “Bad Religion” (Frank Ocean cover) [Video]

Verse December 17, 2012 Premieres, Soul/R&B/Alt Comments

Kicking off our #MusicMonday set of SClusives today is British multi-instrumentalist and soul singer Izzi Dunn, with a unique cover of Frank Ocean‘s “Bad Religion.”

The classically trained artist, who has collaborated with the likes of Bobby Womack, The Gorillaz, Jay Electronica, and many more, brings us a haunting stripped-down take on one of my favourite tracks from the Odd Future affiliated singer-songwriter, originally featured on his critically acclaimed debut album, channel ORANGE.

“Bad Religion is just an amazing song,” Izzi says. “In a world that’s so obsessed with image and full of stereotypes I thought it was incredibly brave and revolutionary for him to put himself out there so candidly. I love artist who let their music do the talking and Frank Ocean is definitely that.”
