Crowds of geeky fans and equally geeky media shivered for hours in Leicester Square last weekend for the blue carpet London premiere of Disney’s highly anticipated Winter blockbuster, Tron: Legacy; released worldwide on December 17th.
Warming up to the booming sounds of Daft Punk – who score the film’s official soundtrack, but sadly weren’t in attendance – SoulCulture TV were on hand to capture it all and speak to the stars.
Chatting to SCTV presenter Jacqueline Shepherd, the film’s director Joseph Kosinski talks about updating Tron in 2010 and the constant challenge of telling the story well with compelling characters, whilst the film’s vehicle designer Daniel Simon talks about the film’s “simulation of reality”.
Lead starring actors Jeff Bridges [who plays "Kevin Flynn"] and Olivia Wilde ["Quorra"] talk performance-capture technology, seeing it all çome together visually post-production and further Tron sequels [it's all in the hands of the fans, director Kosinski adds; "We've tried to create a vast world with a lot of possibilities - so if fans want us to go back someday I'm sure we can find a reason to go."]
Also briefly catching up with other premiere attendees, British fashion designer and original Tron fan Ozwald Boateng talks on style inspiration whilst emerging singer-songwriter Ed Drewett struggles to dream up a parallel universe.
